 Membership Requirements

- Residents of the Municipality of Killarney-Turtle Mountain, the Cartwright-Roblin Municipality; Fees are paid through property taxes. (Must provide street address, Section/Township/Range)

- Non Residents: Annual fee of $70.00 per household (6 month fees available for $35.00 per household).(Must provide street address or Section/Township/Range)

Regulations

1. Regular loan period is 3 weeks
2. Magazine loan period is 3 weeks
3. Video and DVD loan period is 3 days. If these are late coming back we charge $1/day/movie to a maximum of $10.
4. Storystack loan period is 1 week
5. Patron is responsible for cost of any lost or damaged items

Easy Books

These are picture and storybooks for toddlers and preschoolers. We also have a good number of books designed for beginner readers. These books are kept in a special section and are defined with a blue label on the spine.

Storysacks

These are book bags containing a children's fiction book, a non fiction book, props and developmental games which are all revolving around a theme.

Videos and DVDs

Videos and DVDs are rated by the Province of Manitoba Film Classification Board. Children under the age of 12 are limited to General rated movies. Our Video and DVD collection is solely reliant on donations from the public. Any donations are greatly appreciated.

Our collection is supplemented by:

A Large Print rotation from Public Library Services in 4 month rotations which include a variety of genres.

Ebscohost

This is an online database available to all patrons of the Lakeland Regional Library. contact the library staff for a username and password, then have fun exploring the vast amounts of reference material on this site. Available references include the Ebscohost Web Reference, Student Reference Center, Kids Search, Canadian Reference Center, Searchasaurus - Elementary School, Auto Repair Reference Center, Novelist, Canadian Student Research Center, Home Improvement Reference Center, and Small Engine Repair Reference Center. So Get your username and password from any Library Staff and enter the website here.

Inter-Library Loan

This service allows you to request a book that we do not have in our collection. We will try and find the book you are looking for at another library and send a request on your behalf. You are also welcome to search the database yourself by clicking MB Libraries in the navigation bar, the fILL logo in this section or by clicking here.

Public Internet/Computer Access

The library has four computers available to the public. Library membership is not required. Effective now until December 31, 2017 there will not be a charge for usage. Thanks to a designated donation from a generous donor.
Black and white printing is .25 cents/page and colour is .75 cents/page.
We also offer photocopying for .25 cents/page for black and white and colour is .75c cents/page.
Also if you want to scan something to a usb drive we also offer that service now at no cost.

Book Services for Seniors

We are pleased to offer a monthly visit to Bayside, Lakeview Garden and Royal Manor. A staff member takes a selection of material to each of these places on a three week rotation. Residents may choose from the books staff has selected for them or other available books. These items can be kept until the next visit and can be renewed if not done. Requests for Authors, Titles and Subjects will be noted and we will try to fulfill those requests. Any of the residents who are members may also phone the library at anytime to ask for a specific book or books to be reserved for them. When the book becomes available it is set aside for the next visit. If you or someone you know may benefit from this service you can contact the library.

Used Book Sale

We have an ongoing book sale in the basement of the library. Prices are as follows:

Hard covers or trade paperbacks are $.50 each or 3 for $1.00
Paperbacks are $.25 each or 6 for $1.00
Magazines are $.10 each
Videos or DVDs are $.50 each

Donations

Donations of books and movies are greatly appreciated. We reserve the right to add them to our collection or offer them for sale, with the money being used to purchase new books. Charitable receipt available for cash donations.

Other available services

A Service Canada representative comes to the library every second Wednesday 9:00am-3:00pm. Appointments available by phoning the library.
